Hidden Love is a beautiful Cdrama. I’m already a fan of it and intend to watch it again (though I have already watched it twice).

Love in itself is beautiful and when you get to see a drama like Hidden Love, you wonder how lucky those people are to grow up with your love and then spend the rest of your life with them.

Hidden Love is a mix of youth with romance and little comedy. If you like watching this Cdrama then here’s a list of Kdrama similar to Hidden Love.

Hidden Love (Aired June 20, 2023 to July 6, 2023)

Cast: Zhao Lu Si, Chen Zhe Yuan & Victor Ma.

Genre: Romance, Youth, Comedy

Number of episodes: 25

Rating: 8.7 (IMDB) & 9.0 (mydramalist)

Review of Hidden Love

The story revolves around Sang Zhi who is in love with Duan Jia Xu, a friend of her brother who is five years older. Duan is Sang Zhi’s childhood crush. On graduation she joins a university in his city and with in-and-out interactions, they eventually fall in love.

The comedy punches between Duan and Sang as they deal with the age-gap differences and Victor as Sang Yan (Sang Zhi’s brother) is amazing. The way Duan and Sang Yan teach a lesson to the bullies for her is so amazing.

Can go on about Hidden Love but let’s get back to our topic ie.. kdrama similar to Hidden Love

Kdrama Like ‘Hidden Love’

1. Oh! Youngsim (2023)

Cast: Song Ha Yoon, Lee Dong hae, Lee Min Jae & Jung Woo Yeon

Rating: 6.3 (IMDB) & 7.0 (mydramalist)

Review of Oh! Youngsim
If you like romance and comedy then Oh! Youngsim is the kdrama for you. Like Hidden Love, the lead couple grew up together and the male lead had a crush on her since then but she or Young Sim didn’t. Now 20 years later they meet again and sparks fly!
The sparks really fly! The chemistry between them is amazing. Of course some didn’t like the acting, but then you can’t make everyone happy. Overall, it’s a binge-watch worthy kdrama.

3. She Was Pretty (2015)

Cast: Hwang Jung Eum, Park Seo Joon, Go Joon Hee & Choi Si Won

Rating: 7.6 (IMDB) & 8.0 (mydramalist)

Review of She Was Pretty

A story of two friends who meet as adults. A Story of a girl who finds her childhood friend is now a handsome man so she sends her beautiful friend to meet him in her place. A story of how the boy treats her with disdain and she wonders if he’s the same boy she fondly remembers.

Yes, it seems a lot but it’s  a great kdrama to watch. The comedy between Park Seo Joon and Hwang Jung Eum is very beautiful. But when Ji Sung finds out Kim Hye is his childhood friend, the kdrama accelerates and becomes more fun.

4. Reply 1988 (2015)

Cast: Lee Hye Ri, Go Kyung Pyo, Ryu Joon Yeol, Park Bo Gum & Lee Dong Hwi

Rating: 9.2 (IMDB) & 9.1 (mydramalist)

There are more in the kdrama!

Review of Reply 1988

I already did the review of Reply 1988 in my previous article. But here we are talking about romance in your youth years. So, in terms of romance, apart from the lead couple there was a second-lead couple syndrome as well. Matter of fact, the second lead couple Ryu Joon Yeol and Lee Hye-ri were in a relationship from 2016 till November 13th, 2023 when they announced their break-up. So, yes the romance one feels in their youth, the uncertainty, first-time, will take you on a memorable ride as well.

5. More Than Friends (2020)

Cast: Ong Seong Wu, Shin Ye Eun, Kim Dong Jun, & Ahn Eun Jin

Rating: 6.7 (IMDB) & 7.3 (mydramalist)

Review of More Than Friends

As the title says More than friends it’s obvious the lead couple are more than friends. Or at least both have more feelings but due to a misunderstanding or rather a fear of the lead male that he keeps his feelings vented.

The parents divorce being the reason the lead male shunned away from love is a fact that maybe many face in their real life. But as in the kdramra, it’s not important  if your parents didn’t have a happy married life, you won’t as well. Let your fate play its own play.

The last episode is a roller coaster. You get break-up, lovely apology, and realization all in one. When Woo Yeon comes to the exhibition hall and sees the pictures and reads his interview and when they confess it is so heartwarming to see.

6. Soundtrack #1 (2022)

Cast: Park Hyung Sik & Han So Hee

Rating: 7.7 (IMDB) & 8.4 (mydramalist)

Review of Soundtrack #1

A friendship that has seen two decades begins to blur and a new relation kindles in their hearts. Though its the cliche of saying friends to lovers, like you’ll say another one, what’s the difference?

Well, yes the theme is same and probably you won’t consider, but regarding expressing your emotions the characters have done a great job and you feel like you are watching a new show. It won’t be a waste of your time, that’s a guarantee, personally liked watching, rest everyone has their own perspective.

7. Soundtrack #2 (2023)

Cast: Geum Sae Rok & Steven Noh

Rating: 7.7 (mydramalist)

Review of Soundtrack #2

Though Soundtrack #2 is the sequel of Soundtrack #1, the story is different with different characters. The theme is the same. The lead couple meet each other after six years and end up sharing the apartment with another man who has feelings for the lead actress. In the last episode when she sees the last line, it’s like an awww moment, the words are so beautiful, and a well deserved ending.

Review of Pinocchio

The story of a girl who gets hiccups when she lies is interesting in itself, add in a rich heir and a fangirl. What do you get? A spicy reporter recipe!

This recipe is one you should definitely watch, it’s tasty all the way. Two scenes that need mentioning is the break up kiss and the ending kiss. The emotions are well portrayed.
